KIMBERLY BENN
This June, I will be riding my bicycle 500km to fundraise for better outcomes for those living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy via the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research Fund at the University of Toronto.
WHY I AM RIDING:
After hearing about the personal story of Max, I decided to join Max's Big Ride (MBR) to End Duchenne as a 500 km rider this year. Participating in this initiative offers me the opportunity to get out and ride my bike this summer, while raising funds to find a cure for Duchenne.
Individuals experiencing Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, are often not afforded this same privilege as they experience significant changes to their mobility such as muscle weakness, loss of motor skills, and overall, a sense of control over their bodies. Experiencing the physical side effects of this condition can be extremely difficult and some individuals may battle with depression and anxiety as their condition progresses.
Currently, there is no cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, but through your generous support, we can work towards changing this outcome. Together we can change the narrative of those experiencing Duchenne. Together we can make a meaningful impact in someone's life.
Please join me and my fellow MBR riders in this fight to end Duchenne!
All funds donated towards this cause will be provided to the Gunning Group Lan and PRiME at the University of Toronto.
