Indie88 gave listeners a chance to win three gigantic billboards in Toronto. The design could be anything they wanted, and would be seen by over 4 million people. Listeners voted, and all the contestants gathered to find out who the big winner would be...

After hundreds of entries and thousands and thousands of votes, Indie88’s listeners selected “Max’s Big Ride” as our grand prize winner! Here is the winning entry:

Max’s Big Ride by Andrew Sedmihradsky

This summer my four-year old son Max and I will ride a cargo bike 600 km from Ottawa to Hamilton to raise

money for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that currently has no cure.

We expect to have a lot of fun and eat lots of ice cream along the way but this ride has a serious side too as Max suffers from DMD – a disorder that gradually weakens the body’s muscles.

Max is a happy and active boy now, but the future looks scary as most boys with DMD are in a wheelchair by the time they are twelve and have a life expectancy of twenty-something years.

In order to maximize the success of our ride, we need to share our story as widely as possible – and 3 billboards in downtown Toronto would be massive and completely amazing!
